When families are involved, students succeed.

Research consistently shows that students perform better academically, attend school more regularly, and feel more confident when families are actively engaged in their education. At P.S. 83, our PTA helps make that connection possible.

Joining the PTA is a great way to:

• Stay informed about school events and initiatives

• Build relationships with teachers, staff, and other families

• Help shape the school experience for all students

• Support programs, celebrations, and activities

• Volunteer and make a positive impact in the school community

Whether you can volunteer often or only occasionally, every family contribution matters and is valued.

The PTA works closely with school leadership, teachers, and staff to support programs and experiences that help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Together, we help create opportunities such as:

• Family engagement events

• Student celebrations and school spirit activities

• Workshops and informational sessions for families

• Volunteer opportunities

• Community-building initiatives

• Support for school programs and enrichment activities

• 96% of families feel respected by their child’s teacher

Our PTA helps strengthen these relationships by creating opportunities for families to connect, collaborate, and celebrate together throughout the school year.

There are many ways to participate in the PTA, including:

• Attending PTA meetings

• Volunteering at school events

• Supporting fundraisers and family activities

• Sharing ideas and feedback

• Assisting with trips and special programs

• Helping strengthen communication between home and school

No matter your schedule, language, or experience level, there is a place for every family at P.S. 83.

The PTA helps us continue building a positive, inclusive, and student-centered community where children feel supported, encouraged, and inspired every day.
