PTA
Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at P.S. 83
At P.S. 83 Luis Muñoz Rivera, we believe that strong schools are built through strong partnerships between families, teachers, and the community.
Our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) plays an important role in helping create a welcoming, connected, and supportive school environment where every child can thrive.
The P.S. 83 PTA gives families a voice, strengthens school spirit, and helps provide meaningful experiences that enrich our students’ education both inside and outside the classroom.
Why Join the PTA?
When families are involved, students succeed.
Research consistently shows that students perform better academically, attend school more regularly, and feel more confident when families are actively engaged in their education. At P.S. 83, our PTA helps make that connection possible.
Joining the PTA is a great way to:
-
Stay informed about school events and initiatives
-
Build relationships with teachers, staff, and other families
-
Help shape the school experience for all students
-
Support programs, celebrations, and activities
-
Volunteer and make a positive impact in the school community
Whether you can volunteer often or only occasionally, every family contribution matters and is valued.
A Partnership That Supports Students
The PTA works closely with school leadership, teachers, and staff to support programs and experiences that help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Together, we help create opportunities such as:
-
Family engagement events

Workshops and informational sessions for families
-
Volunteer opportunities

At P.S. 83, families are not just welcomed — they are true partners in education.
